Health Benefits to Ingesting Marijuana

by Pete S.March 27, 2016

Most people who use marijuana simply put it in a pipe and smoke it. It’s the easiest and cheapest way to get your high that you’re in search of, or the pain relief you desperately need.

But you can actually eat the stuff, too. I wouldn’t recommend eating it straight-up, because the taste is not that pleasant. But if you add it to brownies or cookies and let the THC seep out of the brownies or cookies, you’ll have a tasty treat that will get you high, and it’s actually better than smoking it.

But what other benefits are there to eating it instead of smoking it?

You Still Get the Cancer-Fighting and Pain-Relieving Power

THC is THC. Smoking it or eating it makes no difference. The only difference is the amount of time it takes to feel the effects. Smoking it provides an almost instant high while eating it may take like 30 minutes or so to experience the high you’re looking for.

It makes no difference which method you choose to get your THC fix, so eating it is still the safest way.

You Avoid the Harmful Contaminates from Smoking it

Inhaling burning particles into your lungs is just no good for you, even if it’s better than smoking cigarettes. Your lungs do not want that stuff inside them, and this is why you cough when you’re first doing it. This is your body’s way of telling you that it doesn’t want this stuff inside of it.

Whether you’re using rolling papers or a pipe, you’re still inhaling burnt leaves and burnt paper, and you don’t want to be constantly breathing this stuff into your lungs.

After a while, you’ll start to develop the smoker’s cough, which is a sporadic coughing sensation that won’t go away, and you’ll be developing mucus on a daily basis.

You Also Avoid Having to Prepare it

Smoking it takes effort. For most people, you can’t just light up a joint and smoke it wherever you want, and especially because it’s not legal yet.

But when you cook the pot in desserts, for instance, you don’t need to worry about smoke or anything setting off alarms. Plus, it always tastes a lot better when you’re eating it in dessert instead of smoking it.

A lot of people can’t handle the smell of weed, and they also can’t handle smoke. Eating it eliminates both of these problems.

So if you’re looking to eat your weed so you can still see the benefits of it, it’s still the best way to go.
